The dream was always running ahead of me. To catch up, to live for a moment in unison with it, that was the miracle — Anais Nin

Heaven Song

I couldn't help but be swept away in the imagery of this song by Phil Wickham, beautiful for its uncharacteristically quiet production. I find most of his music too noisy but his lyrics are often beautiful in their spiritual imagery.

You wrote a letter and You signed Your name
I read ever word of it page by page
You said that You'd be coming, coming for me soon
Oh my God I'll be ready for You

Cause I want to run on greener pastures
I want to dance on higher hills
I want to drink from sweeter waters
In the misty morning chill
And my soul is getting restless
For the place where I belong
I cant wait to join the angels and sing my heaven song

I hear Your voice and I catch my breath
Well done my child enter in in rest
As tears of joy roll down my cheek
Oh its beautiful beyond my wildest dreams

New favourite album

Afloat by Caleb & Sol

These twin brothers weave a refreshing and textured mix of vocal harmonies, instrumentation and (believe it or not) rap that works surprisingly well. Here's one of my favourite tracks Treasures. The album concludes with the beautiful spoken word piece Barabbas I posted earlier in the week which is used at their performances to present a clear Gospel call to those listening.
